Off season

While the baseball season ended in disappointment for both New York teams, our area's football teams have, arguably, been the NFL's best so far this fall. Dennis lucked into a pair of seats for the Jets and Rams earlier this month. The weather cooperated -- as we got a glimpse of Giants Stadium, which the Jets prefer to simply call The Meadowlands. A dozen years newer than Shea Stadium, it never seemed outdated to fans. A rounded rectangle, designed for football, it's been home to both New York teams since the mid-'80s.
Zooming in on quarterback Brett Favre, who has helped spur the Jets turnaround this season.
