On This Date in 1985

Hall of Famer Tony Perez - seen in the front row next to Willie Mays at the 2012 BAT Dinner -- made baseball history. A day shy of his 43rd birthday Perez became the oldest player ever to hit a grand slam home run. It was the highlight of the Reds 7 - 3 victory over the Phillies.
Talk about a gathering of legends -- Mays was the evening's guest of honor. This very special photo also includes fellow Cooperstown inductees (2nd row) Mike Schmidt, Jim Palmer, Joe Morgan, Juan Marichal plus...(3rd row) Tom Seaver, Sandy Koufax, Gaylord Perry, Phil Niekro, Goose Gossage, Orlando Cepeda and Luis Aparicio.
