Wrigleyville

The story of the Cubs and Wrigley Field just wouldn't be complete without a look the apartment buildings just across Sheffield Avenue, where for decades, fans got a terrific view of the action without actually being inside. It's become part of the unique character of the neighborhood.
In recent years, much like the ballpark itself, the buildings have gone through upgrades. Memberships in the rooftop seats has become a bit of an exclusive club.
Fancier entrances and, in this case, the statue of not-so-small or tame cub.
Looking down the street on this spring day, the trees in bloom and Wrigleyville getting ready for a Mets/Cubs game. Who could have imagined back when I snapped these in May that the same teams would fight it out five months later in the National League Championship Series?
Below, a look at the rooftop seats from inside Wrigley Field.
Finally, a view straight up from street level.
