First to Clinch
Tuesday was a great night for the Red Sox. They got their ace Chris Sale back from his latest visit to the disabled list. Although he worked just an inning, it was a productive inning, a healthy inning. And their come-from-behind 7-2 victory over the Blue Jays -- don't they always seem to rally after trailing?? -- made Boston the first team to clinch a spot in the post-season.
Last night's batting star was Brock Holt. The supersub's three-run pinch homer in the 7th inning erased Toronto's lead and put the Sox ahead to stay. Then, the hits kept on coming, with Andrew Benintendi and Ian Kinsler driving in insurance runs in the 8th, with another coming home on Taylor Gurrieri's wild pitch. Win number-99, as the Red Sox chase history.
