When It's History, I Pay Attention
Gary Sanchez (seen here in a 2018 game) and Gleyber Torres claimed a neat place in history during the Yankees 6-5 Wednesday win over the Orioles.
You already know what Torres has done against Baltimore. Sanchez has also accomplished something special, just with a few less headlines. His 1st inning home run gave him 10 on the season versus the O's -- making him and Torres the second pair of teammates to each reach double digits in home runs against the same opponent in the same season.
How rare is that? I think you've heard of the only other duo to pull this off. Numbers 3 and 4 in pinstripes: Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in that magical year, 1927.
