World Champs!

And your MVP is Stephen Strasburg! Two dominating and impressive performances in the World Series as he became the first pitcher ever to go an undefeated 5 - 0 in the post season.

So much history:

  • That 95 year Washington baseball championship drought is over.
  • This was the first World Series (or seven-game playoff in any major pro sport) where the visiting team won all seven games.
  • They were the post-season's comeback kids: Rebounding from two-run deficits in the eighth inning against All-Star pitchers in the wild-card game against Milwaukee and the decisive game of the division series in Los Angeles. And they erased a two-run deficit in World Series game seven after being stymied by 2018 All Star Zack Greinke.
  • Strasburg is the first player drafted first overall to be named World Series MVP.
