Random Images: Mets Edition

Brett Baty completed his climb to the majors last Wednesday night by homering in his first at bat with the Mets. He connected against Jake Odorizzi in the 2nd inning of a 9-7 win over the Braves at Truist Park.

This image is from August 10th, when Baty was lighting it up for the Syracuse Mets.

While Baty's journey began as a highly touted 1st round draft pick, pitcher a virtual unknown till now was a big factor in Sunday's wild, come-from-behind win over the Phillies:

Say hello to Nate Fisher.  The same night I watched Baty, I got my first look at the 26-year old lefty who made his MLB debut Sunday with three innings of shutout relief... After bouncing around the Mariners farm system during 2019 and '21, Fisher signed with the Mets last winter, he, like Baty, did well at Binghamton this spring before being promoted to Syracuse -- and summoned to Philadelphia for Sunday afternoon's game.  His quality work helped set the table for Mark Canha's heroics.
The former Oakland A picked a good time for his first two-home run game in a Mets uniform.  Canha's three-run shot tied things in the 7th, and a two run bomb in the 9th put the Mets on top -- as they made it three wins out of four over the weekend at Citizens Bank Park.
