My good pal (and fellow Canon user) Peter King captured our first glimpse of Luke Voit in Cactus League action for the Padres. He's back to wearing #45, his Yankee number before the arrival of Gerrit Cole.

Entering his walk year, Aaron Judge made his case for a long-term contract extension when he crushed a pair of home runs off the Pirates in Sunday's exhibition game. (This image is from a game last September against Texas.)
The Mets co-aces put on quite a show Sunday afternoon in Port St. Lucie. In what might be the only game this season in which they both appear, Jacob deGrom worked the first three innings and Max Scherzer the next six in a 7-3 victory over the Cardinals. Their next-to-last Grapefruit League appearances put the word out to very scared of facing the New Yorkers in a series this summer, when these guys will likely pitch consecutive games.

Another Mets star also grabbed a place in the headlines:
Francisco Lindor, off that disappointing first season in Flushing, smacked a pair of home runs Sunday -- one batting righthanded, one lefthanded.

Finally, proof that sometimes you can go home again:
Albert Pujols returns to the Cardinals as a bench player. A decade after stunning St. Louis by taking a mammoth free agent deal with the Angels, where he teamed with Mike Trout but reached the post-season just once (the 2014 AL West title, then being quickly swept by the Royals), he's back for a career victory lap. Now 42 with his place in Cooperstown all but assured, Pujols will get the chance to mend fences and restore his place of honor with the franchise he helped lead to a pair of World Series championships.
